"Great Moments" in Bell Centre History
Another day and another post for "Great Moments" in Bell Centre history - Sponsored by Molson.
First a word from our sponsor...
...We now return to our regularly scheduled program.
Exactly one year ago today when the Montreal Canadiens faced off against the New York Islanders, many in attendance thought the Habs would come away with a hard fought victory, especially since they were going on a power play with less than five minutes left in the game. But low and behold, those fans in attendance, didn't know they would get a "Great Moment."
Defenseman Ryan O'Byrne had the puck in his own end, and the goaltender went off for the extra skater to signal the Habs were about to go on the power play. What happened here, though, would truly be one of those moments that separates itself from many other moments held in the Bell Centre.
The Isles went on to win the game in the shootout by a final of 4-3.
And that is your "Great Moment" in Bell Centre history for November 24th, 2009.
